Doing What You Love
Are you working in the corporate world right now for the purpose of paying the bills and keeping yourself alive? Is it your dream to work in that position you are doing right now? If not, you should do what makes your heart sing. Many people already know what they love to do, but they don’t do it because it doesn’t make them enough money. It doesn’t bring them wealth, which most people today equate to happiness. But that is not what happiness is about. Even the people that you consider wealthy have humungous problems they need to face because they are living a life that is dictated by others.
Fear is what makes most people hesitate to do what they love, and they will come up with a lot of reasons for this. For example, you love to write poems, but you are afraid to tell everyone about it because it doesn’t make you money. You want to become a professional singer, but you take a look at the music industry and think that you can’t do it because they are far better than you are. Many people compare themselves to people that have already made the mark, thus they stop what they’re doing and return to the things that will keep them alive.
Don’t think about the other stuff. Just do the things you love. No conditions attached. You can allocate an hour to your passion and show everyone what you’ve got. Be ready for criticisms and face them. If you get hurt when people bring you down, go back up again. Cry if you want, as long as you are able to do what makes your heart happy.
Some people, when they have finally reached their goals, still feel empty or that there is something lacking. One of the reasons for this is that you haven’t contributed something to others. This is why you see a lot of successful people do philanthropy work because they feel it keeps them filled inside. When you volunteer to do some work that you are good at, it feels really good thinking that you have just provided a service to others unconditionally.
Count the blessings that happened in your life and be grateful for it. People missed a lot of blessings they received in their life on a daily basis because they are too focused on the problems that they need to solve right away. If you ask yourself right now what are the things to be grateful for life, can you give an answer right away? Anything that makes you feel grateful for are counted as blessings. The more things you are grateful for, the more these things will keep coming back to you and in greater value, too.
Practice smiling every now and then and see how this affects you internally. You can smile for no reason at all. You smile because you are happy. You smile because you saw someone beautiful smiling at you. You smile because a dog just passed by. You smile because you saw the blue sky. You smile at someone who smiled at you. Smiling makes you happier, even when you force it. You will be amazed how it makes you feel better about yourself and the life you live daily.
If you are not used to doing exercise, just do something that will keep your body on the move. You can do a simple walk in the park for 20 minutes, or even dance. Some people have the misconception that they need to be in a gym to call it an exercise. It doesn’t need to be that way at all. Even biking in city or mountain trails is considered exercise.
It can be very challenging for people to be really happy when their body is sick. However, if you feed your body with the right food, not only will you feel better physically, but your mentality feels healthy, too. You also get to avoid the guilt of eating a lot of junk food.
Get Rid Of Negative Thinking
This is a very addictive habit that everyone is unaware of. Because most people are used to it or is considered normal, they don’t have any idea that it is feeding their system and affecting their surroundings, thus bringing them down.
How do you identify negative thinking? You look down on your physical appearance. Change this mindset by telling yourself in the mirror how beautiful you are. Avoid brushing this off because you don’t look like the celebrities on TV. Praise your artwork and avoid comparing it to others that you feel are better than yours. Become aware of your thoughts and switch them to a more positive one. Make this a habit and it will affect the way you see your world.
