People who have Schizoid Personality Disorder are brilliant in their career. Their major strength is logical thinking and intellectuality. They are usually lonely and are not interested in socialistic relationships and they are much better in theoretical things. They long for intimacy to others, but they fear about it and do not share their fears to others which is their biggest problem. The SPD is closely associated with Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum disorder in which patients find it difficult to form personal relationships with others and have repetitive or restricted patterns of behavior.
Schizoid Does Not Mean Schizophrenic
The personality of the patients having SPD is quite stable. It does not have any specific risk of suffering from psychosis. Therefore Schizoid should not be confused with schizophrenia. A strong form of SPD is known as schizotypal personality disorder where the word schizo has the meaning split.
Schizoid people are lot more independent and tend to remain isolated. They avoid close skin contact and usually suffer from asthma and eczema. They are superficially friendly and seem cool most often. They are interested in fields such as computer science and mathematics usually and tend to ogle nihilism and criticism.

There are various facets in Schizoid similar to other mental disorders. Since people who have very little knowledge about schizoid which changes the personality and people who are strongly affected by the disorder. Many patients have narcissism accompanied along with Schizoid, which does include perceived arrogance of very difficult life when dealing with relationships. They have deep distrust to everybody and everything which makes it difficult for them to make strong personal relationships.
Meaninglessness And Emptiness
Schizoid people usually suffer from sense of inner emptiness for which they consider visiting a therapist. It could happen in some cases when they feel so desperate and think about committing suicide. Lot of people have schizoid disappointments in early childhood when they have bad experience during initial stages of life when they do not have deep loving and bonding with their mother. It is early failure and known as primary schizoid. Lots of patients usually develop this disorder only after experiencing a trauma which is called secondary schizoid and they pull back suspiciously due to this result.
